Driving Directions to El Alamo, Calpe

Calpe is about 65 miles north of Alicante and 80 miles south of Valencia. Most flights come into Alicante, but it is also possible to get flights to Valencia. You can hire a car at either Airport. The easiest route from either airport is via the A7 toll motorway (less than €10). If you are not hiring a car then you can get a taxi transfer from Alicante Airport with Alicante Taxi Transfers. 

Directions from Alicante Airport

Scenic coastal route (approx 2 hours)

From Alicante Airport follow signs to Alicante town. Once you are in the town you should look for signs to Valencia & Benidorm. This will take you north via the coastal road, N332. Once you are on the N332 you stay on this road all the way to Calpe following signs to Valencia & Benidorm. This road is mostly a single carriageway and is windy in places. Be aware that during high season it can be very busy.

You will travel along the N332 passing through the towns of Villajoyosa then bypass Benidorm and then through Altea, which is about 15 mins. from Calpe (about 8-10 miles). After you have driven through Altea the road gets very windy and immediately after quite a sharp bend to the left there is a sign to Calpe/Calp. Follow this sign and take the road to the right.

Toll Motorway (approx 1 hour)

This is a much faster route and will be more direct if you just want to reach the apartment quickly. Follow signs from the airport to Valencia and Benidorm via the A7. Once on the A7 continue following sign to Valenica and Benidorm. Shortly after Benidorm look for exit 64 to Altea and Calpe. This will take you onto the N332 just before Calpe (see scenic route details).

Directions from Valencia Airport

The best and quickest route is again via the A7 toll motorway, but you can take the N332 costal road if you prefer.

From the airport follow signs to the A7 via the A3 towards Alicante. There are a number of opportunities to exit the A7 just to the south of Valencia and join the N332 costal road or you can continue on the A7 until exit 63  onto the N332 (Benesia) towards Alicante and Calpe. After about 5 miles, on the N332 take the exit to the left to CALPE/CALP.

Directions to El Alamo

Once you have turned off the N332 towards Calpe continue along this road until it turns into a dual carriageway. You will come to some traffic lights, carry straight on and bypass the town of Calpe on the right. You will then come to a roundabout with the Puerto and Penon de Ifach sign posted to the right, carry straight on here. You will come to another roundabout. Once again carry straight on (probably sign posted to Moraira).

At the next roundabout (you cannot miss the large white monument in the middle) about half a mile further on turn left (As a landmark, "Hotel Esmerelda" which has a large flashing green neon light on top, is just beyond the roundabout on the right). El Alamo is about 200 yards on the right, just after the Mercadona supermarket.
