In the
local town square of Lassay next to the Mairie is a
8 à Hui where you can get most essential items.
There is also a main supermarket,
Intermarche at the first roundabout on the main road
(D34) into Lassay from Bagnoles All shops
are closed on French Bank Holidays and at 12:00am on
Sunday. In Lassay, however you will always find one
bread shop (either
Aux Délices de Lassay or
Boulangerie & Patisserie) open every day of the week between 7:00am and
7:00pm. Most shops are also closed for Lunch
normally between 12:30 and 14:30. Banks are
usually shut on Mondays but are open half day on
Saturday.
In an
emergency there is a small shop called
Le Relais des Mousquetaires, Tel : 09 62 38 81 61
which sells essential items approximately 15Km away in
the small village of Loré. It open every day apart from
Tuesday form 9:00 to 19:30 and closed for lunch from
13:00 to 14:30, 15:00 on Sunday. See the area map.
There is
no refuse collection service in Lassay. Please leave you
waste, well sealed in the large green bin outside the
house. Recycling can de deposed of in the
recycling and refuse disposal areas
on the way into Lassay from the house just on the right
before you enter the town. There is
even a
main recycling centre near the Intermarche
supermarket.
Lassay-les-Chateaux
is the nearest village with all amenities - General store,
3 Boulangerie / Patisserie (bakers / cake shop), Butcher, 2
Banks, Post Office, 2 Florists, Pharmacy, Optician,
Newsagent etc. Also there is a good sized supermarket (Intermarche)
just outside of the town to the north.
Bagnoles de l’Orne, approximately 10 miles north, is a lovely
Spa town with lots of leisure facilities, restaurants,
hotels, Casino and a lake. Ferte Mace is approximately 15 miles
north
with a very large hypermarket - E.Leclerc and again
shops, bars and restaurants.

Fred
Pizza is worth ordering. He arrives outside the
Mairie in Lassay square just on a Monday night and
is very popular. Place your order by around 5pm to
avoid disappointment. He closes at 9pm and last
orders are around

Swimming Pool – just outside Couberie on the LHS on
the way to Lassay just before you come to the town.

In
Lassay there is the main Castle/Chateau which has
lovely grounds to walk around with a small lake.
